The Closure of Metacomet – 1 Year Later

It has been one full year since historic Metacomet Golf Club closed its doors for good on the evening of September 30, 2020.
Since that day, the clubhouse has been demolished and items auctioned off, and protests have been held outside the property and the city council meetings.
However, the property remains largely untouched as the situation has been caught up in politics ever since that day.

“Well Keep Metacomet Green has filed a lawsuit naming the city and Marshall. We are still fighting and we are not backing down. Marshall has been maintaining the property and has done no building or tearing down in the least. Although, the lawsuit wold force them to use their own money since bank financing wouldn’t be possible while the lawsuit is ongoing,” Keep Metacomet Green Admin Lynn Miller told GolfNewsRI.
GolfNewsRI has provided extensive coverage of Metacomet’s final days and things that have happened since then.
