5 Ways to Give to Golf on Giving Tuesday

From Black Friday to Cyber Monday, and now finally, it is Giving Tuesday.

There are obviously plenty of ways to give around the state, including ways to give back to the game of golf in Rhode Island.

From Button Hole to The Burke Fund, they have continued to teach, award scholarships and raise money.

On this Giving Tuesday, consider a donation to any of these organizations:

The Burke Fund

Formally recognized as the John P. Burke Memorial Fund, it provides financial aid to qualified students to assist them in obtaining a college education.

More familiar to golfers as the “Burke Fund”, it is one of the oldest golf scholarship programs in the country.

This year, the Burke Fund has awarded over thousands of dollars to scholars.

High School Golf Teams

Back in September, GolfNewsRI told you about the high school golf team at St. Raphael Academy seeking donations.

They received incredible support in that endeavor, as they look to build their team back up.

St. Rays might still be looking for equipment, but so might other high schools in the area.

Doesn’t hurt to give them a call and find out.

Special Olympics Rhode Island

Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.

They host a number of golf tournaments every year.
