St. Rays Announces “Incredible” Response in Request for Golf Club Donations

St. Raphael Academy announced that its request for golf club donations has been a great success so far.

As GolfNewsRI reported last month, St. Rays is seeking to rebuild their golf program this season.

“Thank you to everyone who donated gold clubs, balls, and equipment as we look to build our golf program this year. The response has been incredible,” writes St. Rays on Facebook.

The Saints Golf Team had two players last year, including rising star Nick Emery.

This year, they are looking to build a full program.

“It is on going but they received great stuff so far . Some new equipment just a little dated , some old stuff, but overall good participation,” Patrick Emery (Nick’s dad) tells GolfNewsRI.

For those still interested in donating, donations can be dropped off with Mike Gelinas at Pawtucket Country Club.

Gelinas is the pro at PCC, but also the head coach at St. Rays.

Donations can also be made directly to St. Rays via Athletic Director Erika Paiva.
