“Situated on nearly four waterfront acres, the home was originally built by professional golfer Brad Faxon. The chateau-style home offers over 12,000 square feet and features seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms and two half bathrooms,” said Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty in a press release.

Roy Mott represented the buyer, while the seller was represented by Tracy LeRoux of Lim Real Estate.

According to Mott & Chace, it is the highest sale in Barrington since 2014.

Faxon currently lives in Florida where he is part of a team designing a new course at Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club in Jupiter.

Over the last two years, or so, Faxon has drawn the ire of Rhode Islanders after he, along with a group of investors, bought Metacomet Golf Club in East Providence with a promise to restore it.

After just one year of ownership, and seemingly not a ton of effort put in, the group flipped it for development to Marshall.

The course closed for good at the end of September, and its equipment and furnishings have since been sold at an auction.
