Rainville, Mammen Among RI Boys to Qualify for NE Jr. PGA Championship
Bishop Hendricken star Ray Rainville fired a one-under 70 to take medalist honors the New England Jr. PGA Championship qualifier at Crystal Lake on Thursday.
He took medalist honors by two shots over fellow Rhode Islander Raj Mammen.
Mammen, a star at Wheeler, fired a one-over 72 to take second.
Overall, 14 players qualified for the New England Jr. PGA Championship on Thursday.
The cut was four-over par.
The New England Junior PGA Championship is set for July 6-7 at The Haven Country Club.
Recent Cranston West grad Jack Marques previously qualified.
Other RIers Qualify
While Rainville and Mammen led the way, there were a couple of other Rhode Islanders to make the cut.
North Smithfield’s Teddy McGarry carded a four-over 75 to make the cut right on the number.
East Greenwich’s Joey King also fired a four-over 75 to make the cut.
