Preston Stout Wins NCAA Golf Individual Title
Defending Northeast Amateur champion Preston Stout captured the NCAA Individual Championship earlier this week at La Costa Golf Club in California.
Stout fired a final round 69, for a four day total of 14-under (274), to beat Alabama’s William Jennings by one shot
The victory earned him a spot in this year’s U.S. Open and an invite to next year’s Masters Tournament -. if he remains an amateur.

Stout is currently the third ranked amateur in the world.
The Oklahoma State junior won the 2025 Northeast Amateur after firing a second-round 61 to tie the Wannamoisett course record.
At the time, Stout told GolfNewsRI he planned to return to the Northeast Amateur to defend his title.
The 2026 Northeast Amateur field is set to be announced next week at Wannamoisett.
