Joey Iaciofano Earns Top 10 Finish at Minor League Golf Tour Event

Joey Iaciofano earned a top ten finish at the Minor League Golf Tour’s Abacoa Summer Classic on Tuesday in Jupiter, Florida. 

Playing as an amateur, Iaciofano carded a two-under 69 to finish in a tie for ninth alongside former URI star Dawson Jones. 

This is Iaciofano’s second pro event this year after he finished inside the top 15 on the Minor League Golf Tour back in February. 

Tuesday’s event was won by Matthew Soucinek at ten-under par. 

The tournament also featured Providence Open Champion Jimmy Hervol, and PGA Tour player Eric Cole.

Iaciofano’s Round 

Iaciofano opened the round with five straight pars, before making his first birdie on the par-5 sixth hole to get to one under. 

The Oxbridge Academy star than made another birdie on the eighth hole to turn at two-under 33.

On the back side, Iaciofano birdied the tenth hole, but gave it back with a bogey on the 14th hole. 

That was his only bogey of the day. 

Iaciofano parred in to shoot 69.
