Welch Takes 2nd at Price Cutter Championship, Jumps 85 Spots on Points List
Clutch. Had to have it.
Patrick Welch changed the outlook of his 2025 Korn Ferry Tour campaign with a second place finish at the Price Cutter Championship on Sunday afternoon.
As GolfNewsRI reported, Welch sat 127th on the KFT points list entering the weekend, meaning if the season ended “today”, he would have little to no status in 2026.

However, with this clutch solo second place finish, the Classical grad is projected to jump 85 spots into 42nd on the points list and in great shape with just a few weeks remaining in the regular season.
Welch’s jump was sparked by a final-round 63 (9-under) to finish second by two shots and three shots behind the winner.
For the tournament, he carded rounds of 67, 63, 71 and 63 to finish at 24-under par overall.
Chandler Blanchet won the tournament at 27-under par.
Welch’s Final Round
Following a third round 71 that dropped him a few spots on the leaderboard, Welch responded with a big final round.
Welch opened the round with a birdie on the firs thole, followed by birdies on the fourth, sixth and eighth holes.
He turned with a bogey-free 32.
On the back side, Welch made back-to-back birdies on the tenth and 11th holes to get to six-under par fort the day.
Following pars on 12, 13, and 14, welch birdied the par-3 15th hole and finished the round with back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18 to card a bogey-free 63.
Davis Chatfield Takes T17
Meanwhile, Davis Chatfield finished in a tie for 17th overall at 16-under par for the week.
Chatfield carded rounds of 75, 65, 67 and a final round 68 which moved him five spots up the leaderboard.
He is projected to slip from seventh to eighth on the Korn Ferry Tour points list.
