Jamie Lukowicz Advances to U.S. Senior Open Final Qualifying

Former Rhode Island Amateur champion Jamie Lukowicz has advanced to final qualifying for the U.S. Senior Open.

Lukowicz carded a three-over 73 on Monday at Longmeadow Country Club in Massachusetts to make the cut by two shots.

“I screwed up last year with an unfortunate bad break on 17, but made it past the first round this time. Off to New Jersey in a few weeks or so,” Lukowicz told GolfNewsRI.

Lukowicz was one of 15 players to make the cut at this particular qualifier and the only one from Rhode Island.

He will play his final qualifying at Deal Golf and Country Club in New Jersey on June 10.

The 2025 U.S. Senior Open will be held from June 26-29 at The Broadmoor in Colorado.

Lukowicz’s Round

With tricky pin locations and wind conditions picking up, Lukowicz opened the round with three bogeys on the firs six holes..

He parred out to make the turn at three-over 38.

On the back side, Lukowicz birdied the 11th hole before making back-to-back bogeys on the 12th and 13th holes to move to four-over for the day.

Lukowicz strung four pars together to stay at that four-over number before coming up with a clutch birdie on the 18th to get him in the clubhouse at three-over.

As it turns out, four-over looks like it would have got him in, but it certainly would have made it more interesting.

The birdie on 18 made things a little less stressful.

Kalin Earns Alternate Spot

Fellow Rhode Islander Jason Kalin finished the tournament at five-over par and earned the second alternate spot.
