Former Rhode Island Amateur champ Joe Iaciofano took medalist honors in the first State Am qualifier on Wednesday at Cranston Country Club.
Iaciofano finished at even par to take medalist honors by one shot over Kirkbrae’s Nick Salvatore and Ledgemont’s Chad Correia.
Overall, 26 players advanced to the State Am at this first qualifier.
The cut was seven-over par.
Notables
Other than Iaciofano, other notable players to make the cut include former Hendricken star Ricky Angeli, currently Bryant assistant coach Rick Angeli, high school stars Drew MacLeod and Brayden Dickinson, as well as, former La Salle star Joe Earley.
Three players from Warwick Country Club qualified for the event including former Club Champ Brad Auclair, Bryan Kennedy and Johnathan Sayles.
