Umbriano Leads RI Contingent Into Kiawah National Pro-Am

Alpine and Lake of Isles Club Champion Michelle Fisette Umbriano leads a contingent of Rhode Islanders into the Kiawah National Pro-Am this week in South Carolina.

Umbriano is one of just five women in the tournament (field of 352) and one of ten Rhode Islanders playing.

She played a practice round at Turtle Point on Saturday and developed a plan of attack.

“I couldn’t get off the tee, so shots 48 on the front, but then I just started hitting my hybrid off the tee and shot a 37 on the back nine. So that’s my plan this week,” said Umbriano.

The tournament begins on Monday with teams teeing off at four different courses.
