Florida’s Bruneau Announces Commitment to URI Golf

Florida’s Tyler Bruneau has committed to playing golf at the University of Rhode Island. 

Bruneau will be part of the URI recruiting class of 2024. 

“I am super excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career playing D1 golf at the University of Rhode Island! Huge thanks to Coach Burke giving me this opportunity,” wrote Bruneau in a social media post on Wednesday morning.

Bruneau currently plays out of The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida. 

This past December, Bruneau was the low American player at The Orange Bowl at Doral. 

He posted a three-round score of 222 (6-over) to finish 12th in the tournament. 

Come 2024, Bruneau will join a URI squad that consists of 2023 commits Josiah Tong, Narragansett’s Sebastian Carlsson, Tony Liu and Owen Rooney.

Massachsuetts’ Aidan O’Donovan will be one of the veteran leaders of the team.
