Renovation of Wannamoisett Ranked Best in U.S.
The renovation of Wannamoisett Country Club has been ranked the best course renovation in the U.S. by Golf Digest.
Golf Digest also ranks it as the second best in all of North America, behind Canada’s Hamilton Golf & Country Club.
The Renovation
With famed course renovator Andrew Green in charge, construction on Wannamoisett began in September of 2021 and finished around May of 2022.
The greens were restored back to the original Donald Ross designs, bunkers were fixed and moved and even a few extra tee boxes were added.
The renovation was ranked as one of the most notable in the U.S. by GolfPass.
In November of 2021, Green granted GolfNewsRI exclusive access to the course while it was under construction.
