Rhode Island’s Brad Faxon will join NBC Sports and Golf Channel for the 2023 season, according to a report from Golfweek. 

This comes after it was announced that Gary Koch and Roger Maltbie will be done after this month. 

Faxon will join Smylie Kaufman and Curt Byrum on the tournament broadcasts, and also contribute to “Live From” at the majors. 

According to Golfweek, Faxon will take over one of the towers. 

Faxon did not offer a comment to Golfweek in the article.

Faxon on TV 

Previously, Faxon worked as an analyst for Fox Sports during their coverage of the U.S. Open for the five years that they owned the rights. 

Since then, he has contributed to Sky Sports, and made an appearance on “Live From” the PGA Championship this past summer. 

The Barrington native broke into the tv business in 2010 with NBC, but then left to compete on the Senior Tour. 

It looks like he will be back on tv in more of a full time capacity. 

Faxon and Rhode Island 

In his home state, Faxon is known for two very different things. 

The first is his co-running of the CVS Charity Classic, which just came to an end this past summer, as GolfNewsRI reported. 

He is also known for being part of a group that bought and then sold famed Metacomet Golf Club.
