Chatfield Finishes 2nd at RI Open

Newly minted pro Davis Chatfield finished in solo second at the Rhode Island Open this week at North Kingstown Golf Club. 

Chatfield entered the final round in a tie for the lead at four-under par, and finished the tournament at six-under par, two shots out of first.

As GolfNewsRI reported on Tuesday, the former RI Amateur Champ has turned pro and will head to Korn Ferry Tour Q School in a few weeks. 

For his second place finish, Chatfield takes home just over $3,200.00. 

Ian Thimble won the tournament at eight under par and takes home $5,000.00

Chatfield’s 2nd Round 

After a red hot finish to round one, Chattel opened the final round with six straight pars before making his first birdie of the day on the seventh hole. 

On the back side, Chatfield bogeyed the 11th hole, but bounced back with a birdie on the 12th hole. 

He finished with a birdie on 15 before parring out to shoot 68. 

Charlie Blanchard Wins Senior Divison 

Bryant University golf coach Charlie Blanchard won the senior division at two-under par for the tournament. 

Blanchard posted back-to-back rounds of 69 to finish one shot ahead of Valley’s Artie Wilson. 

For the victory, Blanchard takes home $1,200.00.
