“This is a great day for the City of Cranston, but also for the State of Rhode Island. The only Topgolf close to us is in New Jersey. This is the first big family entertainment complex since Rocky Point,” said Cranston Mayor Ken Hopkins after the ceremony.
This will be the first and only Topgolf in the New England area.
“It’s just part of our natural strategy. We have climate control hitting bays where you have heated for the winter months and cooler in the summer months. It is really a year round experience,” said Matt Smith, Director of Real Estate at Topgolf.
Smith added that they hope to have the facility open by fall of 2023.

Regarding the facility itself, Topgolf will be three floors and just over 100 hitting bays.
There will also be concessions, video games, music, a bar and much more.
“It really is going back to bringing people together in a fun and safe environment, whether it is for a social event, birthday party or a corporate event. It’s a great way to kick back, have some fun and enjoy the sport of golf,” Smith added.
Topgolf is looking to employ about 400 people with Hopkins telling assembled media that the starting pay at one of these facilities is approximately $70,000.
