Brad Valois Joins Chatfield, Leopold in U.S. Amateur Field

Another Rhode Islander is headed to the U.S. Amateur. 

Brad Valois posted a two-round score of 135 (9-under) to take co medalist honors at Tuesday’s U.S. Am qualifier at Valley Country Club. 

He becomes the third Rhode Islander, so far, to punch his ticket to next month’s U.S. Amateur in New Jersey.

Davis Chatfield and is exempt into the field and Bobby Leopold qualified last week in Connecticut. 

For Valois, this will be his second straight appearance in the U.S. Amateur after qualifying last year along with Chatfield.

Valois did not make the match play cut last year.

New York’s Matthew Lowe took the other medalist honors. 

Kirkbrae’s Mike Hamilton will be the second alternate in the field.
