Revamped Wannamoisett Scheduled to Open Mid-May

If you have taken a drive by Wannamoisett Country Club recently, you will still see plenty of dirt and plenty of work still being done.

While this may have some members and golfers concerned, Wannamoisett Head Pro Ed Clark tells GolfNewsRI the course will be good to go in plenty of time for the local golf season and the Northeast Amateur.

“We are scheduled for a mid-May opening of the golf course. More information to come as we have some special guests scheduled for a soft opening,” said Wannamoisett Head Pro Ed Clark in an email to GolfNewsRI.

The massive renovation of the famed Rhode Island course started back in September and was led by course architect Andrew Green.

The renovation of Wannamoisett was named one of 2022’s most notable by GolfPass and has led to much anticipation for this year’s Northeast Amateur, which is set for June.

Back in November, GolfNewsRI got an exclusive look at the renovations with course architect Andrew Green as our tour guide.
