Wanumetonomy Golf & Country Club in Middletown is exploring plans to renovate its golf course, GolfNewsRI has learned.

See the Plans Below

“The club is in the planning phases of a new master plan. The architect the club hired to develop the master plan was Tyler Rae,” Wanumetonomy head pro Bill Maguire told GolfNewsRI.

The last renovation to Wanumetonomy was done in 1999 by Ron Prichard.

There is no timetable for when the work would begin, if it begins at all.

About Rae

Rae has  been in the business for more than 20 years and in fact worked with Pritchard previously.

Rae’s current projects include Lookout Mountain Club in Georgia, Philadelphia Country Club, Kansas City Country Club, Beverly Country Club, Atlantic Golf Club in New York, Wakonda Club in Iowa, Woodland Golf Club in Massachusetts and Wampanoag Country Club in Connecticut.

Off-Season of Renovations

This is becoming an off season of golf course renovations in Rhode Island.

While Wanumetonomy is just in the planning stages, work is already underway at Wannamoisett Country Club.

Newport National is adding another nine holes and building a new clubhouse.
