EXCLUSIVE: Inside the Massive Wannamoisett Renovation

Wannamoisett Country Club is just days away from undergoing a massive golf course renovation.

Led by golf course architect Andrew Green, Wannamoisett will undergo a complete renovation of its bunkers and greens.

Of this renovation, the coolest thing that is happening is that Wannamoisett will be going back to the original greens designed by Donald Ross.

“We are changing the greens back to the original shapes that Donald Ross designed. We have a lot of the original green pads around and when Andrew saw them, he said we have to use this,” Wannamoisett head professional Ed Clark told GolfNewsRI.

The other change that Wannamoisett is making will be to the bunkering.

According to Clark, Green and his staff will be renovating every bunker on the course, as well as, fixing the placements of the bunkers to keep up with the modern game.

Clark says the project will be completed by the Spring.

“Aesthetically, the course is going to be totally different,” Clark says.

Wannamoisett previously underwent a renovation in 2008.
