Former CBS Golf Analyst Kostis Responds to GolfNewsRI Article

Former CBS Golf analyst Peter Kostis has responded to GolfNewsRI’s story that went up on Monday regarding his tweets “blasting” the TaylorMade Driving Relief Charity Skins Game.

During the match, Kostis tweeted, “The most entertaining part of this show are the texts and DM messages from my friends.”

He then added, “I wonder what the people who bet on a particular team to win are thinking about this last hole?”

On Monday afternoon, Kostis tweeted the following response to GolfNewsRI:

“I was not “blasting” the charity skins game! Everything was on the line at the last hole and I asked how people were feeling waiting to see the result. My friends were sending funny texts about how they would be trash talking if it were them playing! How’s that blasting? Please.”

The match raised more than $5.5 million for Covid-19 relief.

About Kostis

Kostis was a golf broadcaster for more than 30-years, mostly with CBS.

Back in October, Kostis, along with Gary McCord, was fired from the network and replace by Davis Love III and Frank Nobilo, formerly of Golf Channel.

“The Tour wants more control over what’s being said. I think they want more cheerleaders on the telecast,” Kostis told the No Laying Up podcast.

According to Golf.com, Kostis has received few answers from the network about his departure.
