Patrick Welch Advances to 2nd Stage of Q-School
Classical grad Patrick Welch advanced to the second stage of PGA Tour Q-School late last week in Kansas.
Welch finished at 10-under par for the tournament and in a tie for 10th overall.
The top 17 players and ties moved on from that location.
The former Oklahoma star opened with back-to-back rounds of 72 over the first two days to hang around the cut line.
Welch rallied in the final two rounds firing a 66 in round three and a 68 in the final round to make the cut with relative ease.
Second Stage does not begin until early December.
Welch is coming off an injury riddled season on the Korn Ferry Tour in which he only played seven events.
No matter what happens in Q-School, he can play a full Korn Ferry Tour schedule in 2027 under a medical exemption.
