GolfNewsRI Documentary Offers Inside Look at URI Golf Program

GolfNewsRI is excited to announce the debut of its first documentary.

“Inside Rhody Golf” is a two part series that will take viewers behind the scenes of a Division I golf program.

“This is something Joe and I came up with last winter. We were thrilled to have GolfNewsRI with us for an entire week,” said URI Head Coach Gregg Burke.

In the series, viewers will get a glimpse at everything from the first team meeting of the year, to qualifying rounds, early morning workouts and then on the road.

“We hope it is a unique look at URI Golf and a small peek of what goes on behind the scenes,” Burke added.

The series will air in two pars on GolfNewsRI TV, Sunday, September 20 and Sunday, September 27 on Fox Providence.

There is a possibility for an extended cut to be released at a later date via GNRI’s social media platforms.

“I enjoy watching documentaries – sports related or otherwise. As a media person, I’ve always wanted to try and make one myself. So a huge thanks to Coach Burke, the URI Athletic Department and, of course, the players for allowing us to hang out for a week. Also a massive thanks to Jesse Dufault and Tim Labonte for helping with filming and editing. I think viewers will gain a great appreciation for what it’s like to be a college athlete, specifically a college golfer,” said GolfNewsRI Co-Founder and CEO Joe Calabro.

GolfNewsRI TV airs on Sunday nights on Fox Providence following the late local news.

Episodes are posted on Youtube/golfnewsri.com the next morning.
