Kevin Blaser, Ricky Stimets Advance to 2027 U.S. Four-Ball
Former Rhode Island Amateur champion Kevin Blaser and partner Ricky Stimets punched their ticket to the 2027 U.S. Four-Ball Championship.
Blaser and Stimets combined to fire a nine-under 62 at Potowomut on Tuesday to take medalist honors by one shot over David and Ben Spitz.
The 2027 U.S. Four-Ball is set for Erin Hills in May.
As GolfNewsRI reported, reigning Rhode Island Amateur Champ Jake Bauer punched his ticket to the 2027 U.S. Four-Ball through a qualifier in Massachusetts.
Blaser & Stimets Punch Ticket
Stimets saved par on the first hole and Blaser saved par on the second to get the round started at even par.
Stimets opened the scoring with a birdie on the third, another birdie on the sixth, and closed the front nine by going birdie eagle.
The duo turned at five-under 30.
Turning to the back side, Stimets birdied the tenth and 11th holes to get the duo to six-under.
He saved par on 12, and Blaser saved par on 13 and 14, before birding 15 and 18 to close out the round.
