Calef, Leopold Qualify for U.S. Mid-Amateur
Past Rhode Island Amateur champions Mike Calef and Bobby Leopold are headed to the 2026 U.S. Mid-Amateur.
Calef took co-medalist honors with a two-under 67 at Agawam Hunt to punch his ticket.
The other medalist was former URI star Ben Spitz.
Leopold fired a one-under 68 to get into a five-for-one playoff for the final spot.
In the playoff, Leopold made birdie on the first hole to punch his ticket.
Mike Hamilton and Joseph Harney received the two alternate spots.
The 2026 U.S. Mid-Amateur will take place at Sand Valley Resort in Wisconsin from September 26-October 1.
