Francoeur, Welch Set for AdventHealth Championship
Former URI star Chris Francoeur and Classical grad Patrick Welch will continue their run on the Korn Ferry Tour this week in Kansas City at the AdventHealth Championship.
Francoeur is coming off a top 20 finish at last week’s Boise Open and has moved well inside the top 100 on the KFT Points list.
That means, if the season ended today, Francoeur would have full KFT status for next season.
He began the season with little to no status on the Tour.
Francoeur gets his tournament started on Thursday at 3:11 p.m. alongside Brandon Berry and Philip Knowles.
As for Patrick Welch, his KFT season was interrupted by a hand injury that saw him miss several months.
Last week, Welch finished in a tie for 48th after firing a final round 66 to move 22 spots up the leaderboard.
He enters this week at 167 on the KFT Points List.
Welch gets his tournament started at 8:29 a.m. on Thursday alongside last week’s winner Ross Steelman and Tommy Morrison.
