Stone-E-Lea to Close at End of Season
Stone-E-Lea Golf Course just over the border in Attleboro is set to close at the end of the 2026 season, the course announced on social media.
Stone-E-Lea has been in business for 72 years, but health struggles of owner David Lapierre are driving the decision to close.
“There are some letters you hope you never have to write. For our family, this is one of them. After 72 incredible years, the 2026 season will be the final season at Stone E Lea Golf Course,” the Lapierre family wrote in a letter posted to social media.
They continued, “This has been one of the most difficult decision our family has ever faced. With David’s recent health struggles, we know the third-generation legacy he has dedicated his life to will simply be too much to carry on without him giving it everything he has always given.”
Stone E Lea first opened for business in 1954.
It is located at 1411 County St. in Attleboro.
