2026 Northern Junior – A Rhode Island Preview
A handful of Rhode Islanders are in Connecticut this week for the 24th playing of the Northern Junior.
The tournament is being contested at Wethersfield Country Club and features some of the top junior players from all over the country.
From a local standpoint, there are four Rhode Island or Rhode Island related players competing.
URI commit Jack Quinn, Mount’s Teddy McGarry, 2026 RI Girls Junior Am champ Adriana Eaton and Vinny Papa.
Quinn is coming off a victory in the Maine Junior where he set a new course record in the process with a final round 65.
He heads to URI in a few weeks to begin his freshman season.
McGarry helped lead Mount St. Charles to back-to-back SENE titles this past season.
Eaton captured the 2026 Rhode Island Girls Junior Amateur at Pawtucket Country Club to close out her RI junior career.
She is taking a gap year and heading to IMG Academy in the fall to work on her game.
Vinny Papa is headed to Ferris State University for golf in about a month.
Earlier this summer, she qualified for the New England Junior PGA Championship.
