URI Commit Jack Quinn Fires Course Record, Wins Maine Junior
University of Rhode Island commit set the course record en route to winning the Maine Junior Championship this week.
Quinn’s final round 65 is a course record at Fairlawn Golf Club in Maine.
The 65 also helped him cruise to the Maine Junior Title, finishing the 36-hole tournament at 12-under par.
Quinn won by seven shots and was one of only three players under par for the tournament.
He will join the Rams in just over a month.
Quinn’s Course Record
After a first round 67, Quinn opened the second round with birdies on two of the first thee-holes to get to two-under.
Following pars on four and five, Quinn went bogey, birdie, bogey to card a front nine 35.
Then the soon-to-be Ram went crazy.
Quinn saved par on ten and 11, then made birdie on 12 and pars on 13 and 14.
He then played the final four holes at five-under par with three birdies and an eagle.
Quinn finished with six-threes in his final nine holes, including four straight to close the round.
