AJ Colonna’s U.S. Junior Am Run Ends in Round of 64

AJ Colonna’s U.S. Junior Am run ended in the Round of 64 on Wednesday afternoon.

Colonna fell 4&3 to Owen Coniaris.

Coniaris, an Illinois resident, won four the first five holes to take a commanding four-up lead in the match.

Colonna responded by winning the sixth, eighth and 11th holes to cut his deficit to just one down with a few holes to go.

However, Coniaris responded by winning 12, 14, and 15 to close out the match.

It was a good run for Colonna, who finished inside the top 20 during the stroke play portion of the event and made match play with relative ease.

He will now shift his attention to getting ready for college golf at Villanova in just a few weeks.

Colonna is not currently scheduled to defend his title at next week’s Rhode Island Junior Am.
