The opening round of the Providence Open at Triggs is in the books.
Massachusetts’ Peter French leads the way by one shot after a seven-under 65 in the scorching heat on Thursday.
Former URI star Bryson Richards leads the locals with a three-under 69.
On the girls side, there are only five competitors, and three of them have Rhode Island ties.
Bryant’s Sienna Wheeler is in second at six-over par, while Johnston stars Elizabeth Kue and Kamryn Kue are in solo third and tied for fourth respectively.
New Hampshire’s Delaney Nadeau leads the way after a two-over 74.
