Luke Stennett Advances to U.S. Amateur Final Qualifying
Former URI star Luke Stennett has advanced to U.S. Amateur Final Qualifying.
Stennett played his local qualifier on Tuesday at Richmond Country Club on Staten Island in New York.
He carded an even par 72 and finished in a tie for fifth overall.
Overall, 12 players advanced to final qualifying from this location.
MA’s Matt Cowgill took medalist honors at three-under par.
Final qualifying begins on July 13 and extends through July 22.
As GolfNewsRI reported, Stennett is off to the University of Memphis in the fall after playing at URI for two seasons.
