Blaser, O’Donovan Among Those Advancing to U.S. Am Final Qualifying

Former Rhode Island Amateur champion Kevin Blaser and recent URI grad Aidan O’Donovan are among those who advanced to U.S. Amateur Final Qualifying on Monday at Wanumetonomy. 

O’Donovan fired a two-under 68 to make the cut by two shots. 

He had the medalist lead for much of the day. 

Blaser fired an even par 70 to make the cut right on the number. 

Wanumetonomy is the course that Blaser won his State Am tittle at in 2022.

Other notable players who made the cut include Bryant commits Thomas Constantine and Colin Gleason. 

Constantine finished at one-under, while Gleason finished at even par. 

Overall, eight players made the cut and there is currently a playoff for the alternate spots.

Ryan Kelley took medalist honors at three-under par. 

Brody DiBeneditto, Hunter Stone and Quinn Egan are the other players who advanced. 

Final Qualifying 

U.S. Amateur Final Qualifying begins on July 13. 

Local hosts include Connecticut’s Brooklawn Country Club and Massachusetts’ Boston Golf Club.
