Dawson Jones Advances to U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying
Former URI star Dawson Jones has advanced to U.S. Open sectional qualifying.
Jones took co-medalist honors in the local qualifier on Monday at Eastpointe Country Club in Florida.
He carded a two-under 70 for the round.
There was a six-for-two playoff at one-under par.
It is unknown where he will play his sectional qualifier.
Sites are Woodmont Country Club in Maryland, Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Georgia, Lambton Golf and Country Club in Canada, Lakes Golf & Country Club in Ohio, Ballenisles Country Club in Florida, Century Country Club in New York, Gaston Country Club in North Carolina, Del Paso Country Club in California, Springfield Country Club in Ohio, and Emerald Valley Golf Club in Oregon.
The 2026 U.S. Open is set for June 18-21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in New York.
