Leopold, Calef Competing in Terra Cotta Invitational

Reigning Rhode Island Amateur champ Mike Calef and five-time Rhode Island Amateur champ Bobby Leopold are teeing it up in the Terra Cotta Invitational this weekend in Florida. 

The tournament is played at Naples National and runs from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 18. 

Leopold tees off at 9:30 a.m. off the first tee alongside Jonathan Bale and Todd White.

Calef is off at 8:40 a.m. of the tenth tee alongside Sean Keeling and Connor Doyal.

Other notable amateurs in the field include Cameron Kuchar, Noah Kent, Luke Colton, Josiah Hakala and the number one junior player in the world Miles Russell.

About the Terra Cotta 

The Terra Cotta is celebrating its 30th year as a tournament after originating in 1996. 

Originally the tournament was played as a 36-hole stroke play event with the top four qualifying for a 36-hole match play final. 

The tournament format was changed in 2006 to the current format, a 54-hole stroke play event. 

Previous champions include Justin Thomas, Peter Uihlein, Caleb Surratt and Bud Carley. 

Other participants include Scottie Scheffler, Sam Burns, Brooks Koepka,, Sergio Garcia, Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed.
