Back 9 Bogeys Cost Chatfield at Texas Children’s Houston Open
Davis Chatfield made four bogeys and a double on the back nine en route to a missed cut on Friday afternoon at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
Chatfield finished at two-over par for the tournament with rounds of 70 and 72.
The cut was two-under par.

Entering this week, Chatfield had made back-to-back cuts on the Tour, including a T40 finish last week.
He was in position to have a chance at the cut this week before the back nine struck.
Chatfield will look to bounce back at next week’s Valero Texas Open.
Back 9 Debacle
Entering the back nine on Friday afternoon, Chatfield was three-under for the day and three-under for the tournament.
He had birdied three of the final four holes on the front side to turn at 32.
Chatfield saved par on ten and then bogeyed the par-3 11th hole to drop a shot.
On the hole, he put his tee shot in the right bunker and then two-putted from 30 feet for a bogey.
He steadied the ship with pars on 12 and 13 and still sat right on the cut line.
On the 15th hole, Chatfield was on in three after his tee shot found the right rough, but could not convert a seven-foot par putt.
Moving to the par-3 15th hole, Chatfield put his tee shot well over the green, chipped it to 18 feet and then two-putted for a bogey.
The par-5 16th hole got off to a promising start with Chatfield bombing a drive and then laying up with his second shot to about 100 yards.
However, his third shot found the water, meaning fourth shot was a drop.
Chatfield stuck his fifth shot 15 feet, but two-putted for a double-bogey seven.
He closed the round with a bounce-back birdie on 17 and a bogey on 18 to post 72.
