Chatfield Finishes T40 at Valspar Championship
Former Rhode Island Amateur Champ Davis Chatfield finished in a tie for 40th at the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship.
Chatfield was inside the top 30 for much of the final round, but two bogeys in the final six holes dropped him to 40th.
The former Notre Dame star finished at one-under for the tournament with rounds of 69, 74, 68 and a final round 72.
His final round 72 dropped him 15 spots down the leaderboard.
For what it is worth, Chatfield is projected to move from 165th on the FedEx Cup Points List to 158th with the finish.
Matt Fitzpatrick and David Lipsky are currently tied for the lead at ten-under par.
Chatfield is playing in next week’s Texas Children’s Houston Open.
