Max Jackson Fires Final Round 66 to Climb Leaderboard at Johnnie-O

Former La Salle star Max Jackson rolled in seven birdies in route to a final round 66 at The Johnnie-O at Sea Island on Tuesday. 

Jackson’s final round 66 saw him climb 24 spots up the leaderboard and finish in a tie for 54th. 

By GolfNewsRI’s account, this is Jackson’s lowest round of his collegiate career, with just a handful of starts under his belt.

He carded rounds of 74 and 76 during the first two rounds to finish at even par for the event. 

Jackson played the tournament as an individual, meaning his score does not count toward the team score. 

As a team, Rutgers finished in a tie for seventh with #45 Cincinnati at 23-under par.

Jackson’s Final Round 

The multi-time RI High School champ started his final round on the first hole at the Plantation Course at Sea Island Resort. 

Following an opening par, Jackson made his lone bogey of the round on the second hole to start the day at one-over par. 

Jackson then birdied the fourth, sixth, seventh and eight holes to turn at three-under 33. 

Turning to the back side, Jackson saved par on the first four holes before getting back on the birdie train to end the round. 

The Rutgers sophomore dropped birdies at 14, 15 and 17 to finish at six-under for the tournament.
