Former La Salle star Max Jackson is making his spring season debut for Rutgers this week at The Johnnie-O at Sea Island.
Rutgers hosts the tournament and will have eight players total competing, five as part of the team and three as individuals – including Jackson.
“We’ve got guys at home who’ll be at the Johnny O this week, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them come out and play really well. It’s a crowded locker room — in a good way — and that competition should help us these next couple events. We’re excited to host this event for the fourth-consecutive year,” said Head Coach Rob Schutte.
The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.
Jackson is paired with Christian Figueredo, Jackson Beige and Xander Goboy of FGCU, Nebraska and North Carolina State, respectively.
Other than Rutgers, the tournament is highlighted by #23 Notre Dame, #42 Kansas, #44 West Virginia and #45 Cincinnati.
Jackson played in The Johnnie-O last season as a freshman and finished in a tie for 72nd.
During this past fall season, Jackson played in one tournament for Rutgers, finishing 81st at the Marquette Invitational.
