Chatfield Playing the Weekend at PGA Tour’s Puerto Rico Open
Former Rhode Island Amateur champion Davis Chatfield has made the cut at the PGA Tour’s Puerto Rico Open at Grand Reserve Golf Club.
Heading into the weekend, Chatfield sits at five-under par for the tournament and in a tie for 19th overall.
This is the second cut that Chatfield has made in six career PGA Tour starts.
The tournament is being led by Chandler Blanchet at 13-under par.
Chatfield’s 2nd Round
Coming off a first round 70, Chatfield made tow birdies on the front nine against no bogeys to turn at two-under par for the round.
His front nine included a clutch par out of the sand on the first hole and then his first birdie of the day on the fourth hole.
On the par-5 ninth hole, Chatfield put his tee shot in the fairway bunker on the right side before punching out to the middle of the fairway.

Chatfield rolled in a birdie putt to make the turn at two-under.
Making the turn to the back side, Chatfield made birdie on the par-5 11th hole after putting his second shot in the green side bunker.
He added a birdie on the 13th hole to get to four-under par for the day, before making bogey on the 16th hole to finish at three-under.

Daly II, Russell Make Cut
Along with Chatfield, fellow Northeast Amateur competitors John Daly II and Miles Russell have made the cut.
Making his PGA Tour debut, Daly sits at seven-under par for the tournament and in a tie for seventh overall.
“It’s awesome. This place has always been one of my favorites, like I said earlier, to come watch my dad play back in the day, so it’s pretty cool to make it to the weekend,” said Daly after the round.
Russell made the cut right on the number at two-under par.
He birdied the final hole to get inside the cut line.
“It’s pretty cool. It’s a lot harder than you’d think it would be, I’ll tell you that. Those last few were a bit of a grind, just that back side. Thankfully I’ve kind of been in that situation enough I feel like, I was kind of able to learn from those situations and kind of learn — use what I learned in those situations to use it for today,” said Russell after the round.
Both Daly and Russell will look forward to good finishes this weekend.
