Chatfield Wraps up Play at American Express
Former Rhode Island Amateur champ Davis Chatfield wrapped up play at The American Express on Sunday at PGA West in California.
Chatfield grinded out a one-under 71 to finish 13-under for the tournament and in a tie for 63rd.
The former Notre Dame star made 17 pars and a birdie in the final round to get to the one-under number.
He earned just over $15k for the week.
Chatfield will next tee it up at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines next week.
The American Express was won by Scottie Scheffler at 27-under par.
Chatfield’s Final Round
In the final round, Chatfield hit 93% of fairways in regulation and was 100% in scrambling, which helped him make 17 pars.
Starting on the back side, his loan birdie came came on the par-5 16th hole.
On his third shot from 91 yards out, Chatfield stuck it to 15 inches and tapped in to get under par.
He would par out the rest of the round, making a series of two and three-footers to avoid dropping a shot.
Overall, he averaged about two putts per Green in Regulation and made a total of 38 feet of putts on the day.
