Maplegate CC Sold to California-Based Solar Energy Developer

Maplegate Country Club in Franklin, Massachusetts has been sold to a California-based solar energy developer for $24.8 million.

According to the Worcester Business Journal, Maplegate was sold to NextGrid with the sale being finalized on December 30.

The sale was brokered by Joseph Evans and Dusty Burke Jr. from Massachusetts-based American Commercial Real Estate.

“This project represents a major investment in renewable energy across Massachusetts and reflects the growing role of private capital in supporting sustainable infrastructure. The transaction required careful navigation of permitting processes across Franklin and Bellingham and extensive coordination with municipal boards and stakeholders throughout the region,” said Evans in a press release.

Maplegate Country Club first opened in 1988.

It is unclear when development will begin.
