Chatfield Fires Bogey-Free 64 to Take 2nd at Minor League Golf Tour Event

Former Rhode Island Amateur champ Davis Chatfield finished solo second at the Minor League Golf Tour’s Abacoa January Classic on Tuesday down in Florida. 

Chatfield played in the one-day event a little over a week before he is set to make his PGA Tour debut in Hawaii.  

In the tournament, Chatfield fired a bogey-free 64 to finish at seven-under par overall, one shot behind winner Eric Cole.

Chatfield’s Round 

After opening with a par on the first hole, Chatfield birdied four of the next five holes to get to four-under par. 

He would make the turn at that number. 

Turning to the back side, Chatfield parred the first five holes before dropping his fifth birdie of the day on the 15th hole. 

Chatfield would close strong with birdies on 17 and 18 to card a 64.
