What it’s Like to be John Daly II
John Daly II will be back in the spotlight this weekend as he plays the PNC Championship alongside his famous father, two-time Major winner, John Daly.
This past summer, Daly II made his Northeast Amateur debut at Wannamoisett Country Club where he finished third overall.
Daly II had some of the biggest galleries of anyone in the tournament and talked a little bit about what it’s like to be … him.
“I mean, when I’m out there, I really don’t think about it. I think I have worked hard enough to try and do my own thing, go my own way,” Daly II told the media.

Following his Northeast Am appearance, Daly II won the Southern Amateur, earned a fifth place finish at the U.S. Amateur and then won The Blessings Collegiate Invitational to cap off the college golf all season.
He is currently ranked 54th in the world, according to the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Daly II is off to a great start in his young career, and knows dad is there if he needs help.
“He obviously helps me a lot, whenever I need it. But it’s something I try not to think about because it is just so easy to get lost in that,” added Daly II.
Now the duo will look to add another PNC title this week down in Florida.
Team Daly won the event back in 2021.
