Over 60 Players Compete in Silver Spring GC’s Annual Shootout

More than 60 golfers made their way to Silver Spring Golf Course in East Providence on Saturday for the annual Silver Spring Shootout. 

The tournament format was a scramble with each team being made up of five players. 

The squad of RJ Perry, Kevin Nunez, Patrick Foley, Paul Castellano and Ben Sears won the tournament with a score of 8-under par over 12 holes.

Sears made a bending birdie putt on the last hole to get the squad to eight-under and the victory.

Along with the winners, the tournament also featured current and former players/coaches of the East Providence High School Golf Team. 

Head Coach Bill McEnery teed it up, as well as, current star Nathan Carter, among others.

Former East Providence star Michael Wetmore also played in the event.  

Silver Spring Golf Course is a six-hole course located at 3303 Pawtucket Avenue in East Providence. 

The course has been in existence since 1919.
