Tri-State Matches Underway at Warwick CC
The Tri-State Matches got underway on Tuesday morning at Warwick Country Club.
The annual battle between Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut started with four-ball matches on Tuesday morning with foursomes (alternate shot) to follow in the afternoon.
The matches conclude on Wednesday (October 15) with singles.
Team Rhode Island has not won the matches since 2001, when the tournament was played at Newport.

Massachusetts won the 2024 Tri-State Matches, while Rhode Island finished in third.
In fact, Massachusetts has won four of the last five Tri-State Matches.
While RI has finished third three straight years.
Team Rhode Island
Team Rhode Island is made up of 16 players, all whom qualified based on a points system throughout the year.
The team includes:
Former RI Four-Ball champions Mike Caparco and Jamie Lukowicz, Amateur Golf Tour New England’s John McNeill and Bryant golf assistant coach Rick Angeli.

Reigning Rhode Island Amateur Champ and RI Mid-Am runner up Mike Calef, five-time Rhode Island Amateur Champ Bobby Leopold, former RI Am Champs Kevin Silva and Billy Forcier, as well as, Kevin Blaser.
Reigning RI Senior Amateur Champ Darren Corrente and senior mid-am champ Glenn Dufault.
The team is rounded out by Tyler Cooke, Nate Winsor, Brian O’Leary and Chris O’Neill.
