Patrick Welch Locks up Full Korn Ferry Tour Status for 2026

Classical grad Patrick Welch has secured full Korn Ferry Tour status for the 2026 season.

Welch finished in a tie for 37th at this week’s Compliance Solutions Championship in Oklahoma and is projected to stay at 36th on the points list.

The top 75 players advance to next week’s Korn Ferry Tour Championship and lock up full KFT status for next season.

Welch will have an outside chance of sneaking into the top 20 on the points list and earning a PGA Tour card next week in Indiana.

Welch’s Rollercoaster Season

The former Oklahoma star played the first half of the season with conditional status, meaning he was only going to get limited opportunities to play.

As late as mid-July, Welch sat 127th on the Points list and was in danger of not having any status on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2026.

Then everything changed.

Starting with a first round 63, Welch earned a second place finish at the Price Cutter Championship launching him 85 spots up the points list leaderboard into 42nd.

He worked his way into the high 30s (it has fluctuated a little) and stayed there through this week.

No matter what happens next week, Welch has “a job” for the 2026 season.

With that pressure off him, he can now eye a PGA Tour Card with a big finish at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship.
