Francoeur in 9th Entering Weekend at Fortinet Cup Championship
Former URI star Chris Francoeur sits in a tie for ninth place heading into the weekend at the Fortinet Cup Championship on PGA Tour Americas.
Francoeur is seven-under for the tournament with rounds of 67 and 66 to this point.
As of Saturday morning, he is projected to finish just outside the top ten on the points list, so will need a run on the weekend.
“Still a lot of golf left. Obviously, very easy to think about the points at this point in the season, but just have to stick to the game plan. I have been playing well the last two days, just can’t get ahead of myself,” said Francoeur after the round.
The top ten players at the end of the weekend earn Korn Ferry Tour status for next season.
Francoeur tees off at 3:20 p.m. eastern time on Saturday.
Michael Brennan and Derek Hitchner lead the event at 11-under par.
