Lajoie, Jones Lead RI Senior Amateur After 1st Round
North Kingstown’s Ray Lajoie and Connecticut National’s Dave Jones are tied for the lead at two-under par after the opening round of the Rhode Island Senior Amateur at Triggs.
They lead by one shot over a trio that includes Darren Corrente, Kurt Bodziony and Shawn Seybert.
Kirkbrae’s John Auclair rounds out the top six at even par and two-shots back.
The final group, that includes Corrente, goes off at 10:36 a.m. on Thursday.
Overall, the top 60 players and ties made the cut into the final round with that cut coming at eight-over par.
Rhode Island legend Paul Quigley is among the players to make the cut at five-over par.
