URI’s Luke Stennett Wins Manchester Open Am Championship
URI star Luke Stennett won the Manchester Open Amateur Championship over the weekend at Manchester Country Club in Connecticut.
Stennett carded a three-under 69 to win the title.
This is his first Manchester Open victory.
The rising Rhody sophomore is coming off a big freshman year at URI.
He helped the Rams to five tournament victories and was named A-10 Rookie of the Year.
He is the first URI player to win the award since the award was introduced in 2017.
In his first season at Rhode Island, he played in eight regular season tournaments, winning one of them and recording five top-five finishes.
